The "Grottes de Matata" are situated along the limestone cliffs
of Meschers sur Gironde. Our establishment consists of several different, independent activities:

A museum tracing the history of the inhabitants
of the caves,
A hotel with views of the estuary,
Banquet rooms, Seminars,
A restaurant and a creperie located in the caves,
A gift shop.

Along 1 mile, these caves, hollowed out by the movement of the estuary 65 million years ago, have always been inhabited by man.
